Control your Yaesu FT-991A from anywhere you have an iOS device and the internet - great for traveling. This is a feature-packed app with a clean UI and those features tucked away. Choose your own layout and the app will remember your preferences.

For a Yaesu FT-991A you'll need a Windows PC or Raspberry Pi host running our slim app to translate CAT commands and facilitate the low-latency, high-quality bidirectional audio streams.

More Radios, Soon

Support for ICOM's IC-7300 and IC-7100 are currently being tested in Closed Alpha. Contact me if you'd like to test!

FYI, the Windows host application's source code is available for viewing so you know what I'm asking you to run on your network. Find that here: TBD

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 8, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how this mobile app, HamPal ("the App", "I", "me", or "my") handles information when you use it. I am deeply committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about my practices.

1. Core Privacy Commitment

That app was built with privacy as a foundational principle. The App contains:

  • No third-party trackers or analytics SDKs, only anonymized crash data
  • No advertisements of any kind
  • No in-app purchases
  • No other data collection
  • I do not collect, store, transmit, share, or sell any personal information about users

2. Network Communications

The App establishes network connections solely to interact with the radio you are wanting to control. This connection:

  • Is initiated directly by your device to the respective device either directly or via whatever VPN you've chosen to employ
  • Uses standard internet protocols (HTTP, TCP/UDP)
  • Do not route or send any data through any servers I operate

3. Open Source Transparency

While the iOS app's code is closed source, it is limited by Apple's iOS permissions boundaries, static code analysis, and QA process upon submission. The Windows application is of course not - therefore I've made that source code totally viewable. You'll find that purely acts as a proxy between your radio and the iOS app, formatting requests and responses, and supporting the two Opus UDP streams (one from iOS to radio, one from radio to iOS) needed.

4. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since it collects no personal information whatsoever, no data pertaining to minors is retained.

5. Data Security

Since the App does not collect or store any user data on my own systems, there is no personal information of yours that could be exposed in a security incident.

6. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time, most notably as more iOS apps are produced. Any changes will be reflected with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App(s) after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. You are encouraged to review this policy periodically.

7. Your Rights

Because there is no personal information collected, there is no personal data to be provided, corrected, or deleted on our end.

8. Contact

If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy, please get in touch right away. Your privacy, cybersecurity, and other concerns are very important to me - please find my contact page linked below.

This Privacy Policy applies to HamPal as distributed on the Apple App Store. Last updated: April 8, 2026.
